RESIDENTIAL OPERATOR/ DRIVER

 
  • WasteNot Compost aims to make composting as easy, clean, and cool as possible in Chicago with zero-emissions. As a Residential Operator you will be responsible for servicing our members’ pickup and drop-off service. As a driver you will be responsible for safe and efficient operations that are the core of our business, providing a seamless service for the entire WasteNot team and WasteNot members.

    • Utilize route information and navigation tools to complete service for WasteNot Members

    • Ensure buckets and/or carts are delivered in pristine condition to the correct addresses 

    • Read and understand notes on bucket/cart location to ensure correct placement 

    • Interact with curious Chicagoans who may be interested in composting

    • Serve as a liaison between WasteNot Compost and its members (residential and commercial)

  • • Detail-oriented, able to problem-solve quickly, and think on your feet

    • Punctual

    • Ability to adapt to changes and changing conditions

    • Positive, can-do, self-starter attitude

    • Strong commitment to the safety of yourself, your team members, and the WasteNot vehicle

WASHER

PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME

  • WasteNot Compost aims to make composting as easy, clean, and cool as possible in Chicago with zero-emissions. As a WasteNot Washer, you will be responsible for all things wash related in the world of WasteNot. This means washing things like buckets, carts, vans, and facility floors. Your efforts will ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation, maintenance of the warehouse/facility, and effective operations for other team members. The successful execution of the Washer position is essential in providing a seamless internal operation for the entire WasteNot team and WasteNot members.

    This role will begin as a part-time morning shift (in the 8AM - 2PM window). Must have availability Monday-Friday for 4-6 hours each day; there’s potential for this to become a full-time position.

    • Arrive on time to the warehouse for your scheduled shift

    • Utilize WasteNot’s machinery to sanitize and cleanse various assets including member buckets and carts for routes

    • Work with your team to tackle necessary volume of units for daily routes

    • Work alongside Warehouse Manager to manage warehouse activities such as washing analytics, inventory, order processing, maintenance of equipment, and more

    • Maintaining cleanliness of the WasteNot fleet and warehouse

    • Stacking, shifting, and moving of supplies around warehouse

    • Labelling and organizing as needed

    • Keeping wash area clean, tidy, and operationally effective and efficient

    • Excellent communication skills—communicates regularly, constructively, and effectively and can do so with the Warehouse Manager for greatest efficiency

    • Able to work independently, but also collaborate with the rest of the WasteNot Team to ensure tasks are completed properly and in a timely fashion
